This is Part 2 of my epic collab at Galbraith Mountain with The Loam Ranger, BCPOV, and Daily MTB Rider shredding some flow trails in Bellingham Washington. This video covers the second half of our ride where we rode Evolution, Unemployment Line and Atomic Dog. Evolution was a lot of fun, and Unemployment like was more of a struggle for me on my Devinci Wilson. These trails are better for shorter travel enduro bikes, so I can’t wait to go back there with a more appropriate bike! We see a lot of finger pointing these days. Everyone is convinced that their lives are the most difficult or that their obstacles are the greatest. They are unlucky and the world owes them. But I've seen both sides of the coin. I've had good years quickly followed by terrible ones. I have stolen food just to eat. I know what it is like to struggle, and after my meteoric rise as a member of the Grass Roots in the 60s, it was only a few years before I found myself in an unemployment line. This song is written about that moment. It's about a time that taught me that no one is owed anything. We want and wish, while cursing our neighbor who may have more. But what we have is not as important as the perspective we maintain. I believe we fail to see the real battle buried beneath all the burea...
Unemployment Line, injust systyems.
Hours before I was to fly to Mexico/Switzerland/Germany/Britain/Canada for work, I got a pleasant surprise- my buddy Nate Hills was in town! We arranged for an early morning ride, and Nate ran his #followcamfriday set up to get some footage. My daughter had spent almost the whole night prior crying, so I'm running on zero sleep in this footage, but Nate and I had a blast riding some of the goods on Galbraith!
A ride on U-line at Galbraith mountain on my 2014 trek ex 8 29er. Lots of fun, perfect conditions! Galbraith is located in Bellingham, Wa. Send me a message if you want to ride, I'm always looking for new riding buddies!

ALBANY More people are out of work locally than ever before and the Department of Labor is working overtime to try and provide benefits. January was one of the busiest month on record at the unemployment office. The Department of Labor took 500,000 phone calls in the month of January from folks who had questions about their unemployment benefits; thats a 35% increase compared to January 2012. Because of the increase in calls, the time that any given caller will wait on-hold to speak to a live operator has jumped from 7 minutes to 11 minutes. Marc Hitchcock of Watervliet has been looking for work for a year, I used to feel bad even trying to call for benefits until I realized, wow, I'm having trouble and I really need the benefits, he says. Hes been collecting weekly b...

Now there's a new craze a-goin' 'round
It's gettin' bigger in most every town
From New York City out to Hollywood
Got everybody in the neighborhood
Down in the unemployment line
You got yourself a place and I got mine
We been here waitin' since the clock struck nine
Down in the unemployment line
Now every day you've got to fight the horde
Just to read what's on the bulletin board
When you go back and try and claim your space
Some other sucker come and stole your place
I hope the people in the government
Tell us how we're gonna pay the rent
How we're gonna get enough to eat
No that the workin' man is obsolete
If things keep goin' like they seem they do
Won't be long before they're down here too
And they can be a part of this here mob
Workin' nine to five to find a job
